RUTH B. ZIEGLER LOAN FUND FOR FAMILIES OF CHILDREN WITH AUTISM & SPECIAL NEEDS
With the school year only a couple weeks away, many families are facing financial difficulties while providing their special needs children with evaluation, treatment and therapies. Thanks to a cornerstone gift from Ruth B. Ziegler and the Ziegler Family Trust, JFLA is able to continue meeting this critical community need through the expansion of the Ruth B. Ziegler Loan Fund for Families of Children with Autism & Special Needs. This fund provides interest-free loans of up to $10,000 on a non-sectarian basis to help defray the costs of treating a child with special needs. Since January, JFLA has provided more than $75,000 in interest-free loans to help pay for evaluation, care and/or treatment of special needs children. JFLA remains an active partner in Ha-Mercaz, a central resource connecting parents of children with special needs to various services they need. JFLA is also in collaboration with several other community agencies that serve as referral sources, including Los Angeles Families for Effective Autism Treatment (LA FEAT) and Talking about Curing Autism (TACA).
