MICRO-ENTERPRISE LOAN PROGRAMS |
“Cash flow [for my new business] was tight due to production of new products. My application to JFLA was received with courtesy and respect, and our business has definitely jumped to the next level because of our [increased] exposure. I will always be grateful for JFLA’s help, and will continue to marvel at this amazing enterprise. JFLA is a treasure, and as my business grows, we will do our part to help make someone else’s dreams come true.”
The above excerpt is only one example of the many thank you letters we receive from clients who received a loan to start or expand a small business. Since its inception, the Micro-Enterprise Loan Programs have distributed over $4.5 million in interest-free loans to entrepreneurs throughout Greater Los Angeles. The entrepreneurs and their businesses represent a wide range of LA culture, including a flower shop, an organic drink business, a children’s sports camp, a test prep franchise, and many more. JFLA’s Micro-Enterprise Loan Programs include:
- Abecassis Small Business Loan Fund
Provides loans to Jewish entrepreneurs over the age of 30 starting a new business.
- Max & Anna Baran, Ben & Sarah Baran & Milton Baran Small Business Loan Fund

- La Kretz Small Business Loan Fund

- The Rick, Debbie, Jeremy and Ashley Powell Family Women in Business Loan Fund

To add to last month’s list of tips, here are a couple more:
- Support JFLA by shopping on Giveline.com. Browse their wide selection of products, including books, DVDs, electronics, home products and much more. A portion of each sale benefits JFLA. Click here for more details.
- Contribute to JFLA from your IRA account. Take advantage of The Pension Protection Act of 2006, which allows taxpayers over 70.5 years old to donate to charity directly from their IRA account.
