EMERGENCY
LOAN FUND
At
the heart of JFLA lies the Emergency Loan Fund, assisting
with interest-free loans of up to $2,000 for basic needs such
as food, shelter, clothing, car repair and much more. Since
1904, JFLA has granted hundreds of thousands of interest-free
loans for emergencies to individuals and families of all faiths
in need of assistance. Last year, JFLA expanded this growing
fund to include medical and dental loans for seniors. Currently,
emergency loans comprise 36% of loans distributed throughout
the community. If your family or someone you know is in need
of assistance, please contact (323)761-8830 or info@jfla.org.
IN THE NEWS
JFLA
has recently partnered with the Jewish Federation and several
other Jewish community agencies to assist children with special
needs as part of a program called Hamercaz. This program is
