PARVIN APPLIED EDUCATION LOAN FUND
Many students attending technical, vocational and trade schools are in need of financial assistance to cover the costs of tuition, books and other school-related expenses. Established in 2003, the Parvin Applied Education Loan Fund offers interest-free loans to help defray the costs associated with pursuing a degree or certificate in the applied education field. Since the program’s inception, JFLA has granted nearly 100 loans to students interested in career-building programs such as Microsoft certification classes, nursing programs or teaching credentials; immigrants in need of computer training or English as a Second Language courses; and students enrolled in trade and vocational schools to become chefs, massage therapists or x-ray technicians. JFLA has partnered with several vocational schools in the Greater Los Angeles area that serve as referral sources, including Los Angeles Vocational Institute, Conejo Valley Adult Education, Adalante Career Institute and ORT. If you or someone you know is in need of a loan for applied education, please contact (323)761-8830 or info@jfla.org.
