Many Californians have difficulty accessing home healthcare services due to lack of insurance, limited coverage or gaps in Medicare. The Kopelove Home Healthcare Loan Fund is a program for families in need of short-term home care for children, parents and spouses. Loans averaging $5,000 are available for:
Home healthcare is a cost-effective alternative to extended hospital stays, but still an expensive undertaking. Interest-free loans can assist those who are uninsured or underinsured, have to meet a deductible, are awaiting reimbursements or who opt to be a primary caregiver. One-to-two cosigners are required depending on the amount of the loan. JFLA also offers loans of up to $10,000 to Los Angeles county area residents specifically for Fall Prevention needs, such as the installation of rails and ramps, automatic lights, kitchen and bathroom modifications, installation of fall sensor devices and changes in flooring as appropriate.
