This month, JFLA installed our new board President, Erwin Diller. Erwin calls himself a "recovering lawyer," having practiced law in the private sector for over 40 years. He holds both undergraduate and law degrees from UCLA. He has been active in our Jewish community, serving on the Bonds for Israel executive board, and was one of the founders of the Federation's health care division. In Eugene, Oregon where he and his family lived for several years, Erwin was Lane County's Jewish Federation campaign chair and president. When he returned to L.A., he met Linda Gordon, then the loan manager at JFLA, and told her he wanted to get involved with a "hands on" Jewish agency. He joined the JFLA board in 2002, served as chairman of the loan committee for several years, and as Vice President on the Executive Committee. Erwin is married to Molly Forrest, CEO of the Jewish Home for the Aging. They share 4 children and 4 grandchildren and are members of Valley Beth Shalom in Encino.
