Urgent Personal Assistance

JFLA’s Personal Loan Program is here for you when an unexpected expense or urgent situation has you in a bind. Personal loans can be used for everything from car repairs and leaky roofs to childcare and remote learning tools as a result of the corona virus pandemic.
You can get a loan that has no interest and no fees for
Up to $7,500 if you are employed with 1 guarantor
Up to $15,000 if you are employed with 2 guarantors
Without a small interest-free loan, some people could find themselves homeless, without childcare, or unable to get medical treatment. Jewish Free Loan can be a last resort, and the only community organization that provides cash-in-hand for unexpected, emergency situations of many kinds. Emergency loans can be used to pay for the fees associated with:
- Childcare during the pandemic
- Remote learning tools: Wifi, computers, school supplies
- Processing adoption and citizenship applications
Emergency loans can also be used to pay for:
- Rent, security deposits, Section 8 housing, moving expenses, first and last month’s rent, and basic furniture.
- Car repairs, transportation, food, prescription drugs
The mission of Jewish Free Loan Association is to offer interest-free loans on a non-sectarian basis to individuals and families whose needs are urgent and who may not qualify through normal financial channels. Interest-free loans, instead of charity, fill an important gap by promoting self-sufficiency with dignity. Jewish Free Loan Association is a source of economic justice in the community.
