> Jewish Free Loan Association offers zero-interest, zero-fee loans on a non-sectarian basis to individuals and families whose needs are urgent and who may not qualify through normal financial channels. In 1904, a small group of businessmen met in the thriving city of Los Angeles to establish an organization to grant loans to the needy without interest or any other charges. These loans were made to help buy a sewing machine or a pushcart for fruits and vegetables. Throughout the 20th century, the Jewish Free Loan Association (JFLA) played a vital role in the Southern California community.
