Home Healthcare Loans
Many Californians have difficulty accessing home healthcare services due to lack of insurance, limited coverage or gaps in Medicare. The Kopelove Home Healthcare Loan Fund is a program for families in need of short-term home care for children, parents and spouses. Loans averaging $5,000 are available for:
- In-home Care Providers
- Durable Medical Equipment & Supplies
- Medical Home Improvements including ramps and railings
- Respite for caregivers
Home healthcare is a cost-effective alternative to extended hospital stays, but still an expensive undertaking. Interest-free loans can assist those who are uninsured or underinsured, have to meet a deductible, are awaiting reimbursements or who opt to be a primary caregiver. One-to-two cosigners are required depending on the amount of the loan.
The JFLA Alzheimer’s & Dementia Care Loan Fund offers interest-free loans averaging $5,000-$10,000 for respite care for caregivers who are overwhelmed by caring for patients/relatives with these illnesses and specialized professional training for caregivers.
JFLA also offers loans of up to $10,000 to Los Angeles county area residents specifically for Fall Prevention needs, such as the installation of rails and ramps, automatic lights, kitchen and bathroom modifications, installation of fall sensor devices and changes in flooring as appropriate.
