The JFLA Student loan program will open on April 1, 2023. Loans will be reviewed in the order that they are received.
Please get your completed application in early because limited funding is available.
The 2023 JFLA Student Lending Program has extremely limited funding for nursing students and graduate students. If you are a nursing student or a graduate student you may still apply. Loans will be made on a first come first serve basis.
First time borrowers only: Borrow up to $7,500 with 2 guarantors.
Current JFLA student loan recipients: Two guarantors are required. If you would like to re-apply for another student loan, please email info@jfla.org. Please do not use the online application.
Students may apply for loans for
- Nursing school
- Medical school
- Dental school
- Community college
- Vocational or trade school
- undergraduate education
- professional
- graduate school
Nursing, medical, and dental school students can get up to $7,500.
Community college, and trade school students can get up to $7,500.
Please note: Applications should be completed by the student - not by a parent. Only complete applications will be considered so get yours in now to be reviewed.

Eligibility:
- the applicant must live in Los Angeles, Ventura, or Santa Barbara County.
- the applicant must be a full-time student with a minimum 2.5 GPA.
- the applicant must have one or two guarantors.
- the applicant may be any race, religion, or gender.
