Rachel Grose, Executive Director

Rachel Grose serves as the Executive Director of the Jewish Free Loan Association. She joined the organization in 2001, as Director of Foundation and Corporate Relations, becoming the Associate Director in 2013. Rachel was named Executive Director of the agency in 2017.

In her 21 years with the Jewish Free Loan Association, Rachel has worked to promote the concept of zero interest, zero free lending and equitable access to clean capital. She has successfully elevated the image of the organization, increased its assets, and ensured that the clients’ needs are met daily. Rachel has cultivated long-term relationships with community leaders, high profile corporate and individual donors, and elected officials throughout the state of California.

A passionate and data-driven nonprofit leader, Rachel boasts a proven track record of leading organizations with impactful missions. She has a personal and professional commitment to fostering financial empowerment, championing social justice, and improving the community at large with an effective strategic vision.

The Jewish Free Loan Association offers zero interest, zero fee loans on a non-sectarian basis to individuals and families whose needs are urgent and who may not qualify for loans through normal financial channels. Rachel believes that zero interest, zero fee loans, instead of charity, fill the gap in our social system by promoting self-sufficiency with dignity.

By championing zero interest, zero fee loan assistance to people in need, Rachel helps Angelenos lead more rewarding and responsible lives. She advocates for the transformative potential of zero interest, zero fee lending at the intersection of finance and philanthropy.

Rachel Grose’s entire professional career has been devoted to the Los Angeles not-for-profit community, including positions at Hillel of UCLA and Students Run L.A. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and an MBA in Non-Profit Management from the American Jewish University in Los Angeles.

Rachel grew up in Maryland, and currently resides in Los Angeles with her husband, three daughters, and their Schnauzer Chip.
